what about finding the median of medians of arrays a1, a2 .... an (each of size n)?

I clicked the option (a) - ῼ(n^2 lgn). Now I think it should be O(n^2) since we can employ linear time sorting algorithms to sort the n^2 elements.

Talking about the full trees problem:

  • Remember that the question talked about selecting pair of "leaves". Total such pairs would be $\binom{8}{2}$ = 28.
  • Now, we need to find out the number of vertices according to the distances.
  • n(X=0) = 0.
  • n(X=1) = 0.
  • n(X=2) = 4.
  • n(X=3) = 0.
  • n(X=4) = 4.
  • n(X=5) = 0.
  • n(X=6) = 16.

Thus, after calculating the expectation, we get

E(X) = (0*0 + 1*0 + 2*4/28 + 0 + 4*8/28 + 0 + 6*16/28) = 4.857.

Now, since the question asked about the rounded off value till 2nd decimal, I think, the answer would be 4.86

About the 2 marks C program.. which talked about

float i = 2.0, j = 1.0...

while(i/j>0.0625) {

j = j+j ;

.....

printf("........")

}

I think the answer would be 5 times. Please confirm... I think in the sixth iteration, it will not enter into the loop because at that time, the i/j would be "equal" to 0.0625.

It can be solved through venn diagram. The catch was they had mentioned as only drama ,  only dance, only maths. So actual for drama would be only drama + dance and drama + drama and maths + all three and similarly for remaining three.

How 80? I think answer should be 0
Like
Nor gates are 3 because complemented are given so no need to use not gate

@rajatmyname 80 since minimum value of D would be D-50 and maximum value of D would be D+30.

@ Harsh Kumar Dont go for SOP form from KMAP..instead write the function in POS form because we need to implement it through nor gate...and then u will get it
Like

@   i also think the answer should be 0 becoz all the 3 processes will run whatever be the case...dont know whether its ryt :(

Like
80 is correct if the  variable is global (shared variable)there is difference between sentence of high level  and low level instruction. in process execution every process have it's own register(local)  the sentence will convert into mainly three instruction which i remember  and then apply concurrency concepts.
Like

 i think we will have a clear idea when the question paper is out

Like
@Amit .Kumar No doubt about it. It's  just a conflict regarding understanding and interpretation of question otherwise answer would be unique as always ,as soon as paper is out.
Like

@amanjuyal The variable has to be global, otherwise, there is no meaning of min and max values of D.

If each process had its own copy of the variable, then each process would have its own Min and Max value...

Like
