GATE CSE 2001 | Question: 19
Two concurrent processes $P1$ and $P2$ want to use resources $R1$ and $R2$ in a mutually exclusive manner. Initially, $R1$ and $R2$ ... . Exchange the statements $Q1$ and $Q3$ and statements $Q2$ and $Q4$. Is mutual exclusion guaranteed now? Can deadlock occur?

#Instruction-pipeline Data hazard between two consecutive memory access instruction
Although the following instructions do not make much sense but if such case occurs, is data forwarding from MA of I1 to MA of I2 allowed? Or will it result in some stall? Please add some reference, I couldn't find any yet. I1: Load A //A<-Mem[address] I2: Store Adress2, A // Mem[Address2] <- A

Self doubt (natural number)
Natural numbers begin from 0 or 1?... now according to modern maths do we consider set of positive integers as natural numbers {0,1,2...}? ""Some definitions, including the standard ISO 80000-2,[1] begin the natural ... numbers, but in other writings, that term is used instead for the integers (including negative integers).""(SOURCE:WIKIPEDIA)

Doubt
#include <stdio.h> #define A -B #define B -C #define C 5 int main(void) { printf("%d",A); return 0; } now my doubt here is, before compilaion i think macro will make printf part as, printf("%d",--5); which should give L-value ... ("%d",-(-5)); leading to no compiler error and giving answer as 5, but macro implicitly never put precedence braces() itself...

C doubt
void function ( char *a , char *b) { ++*a; *b++; } main () { int a=5, b=5; function (&a, &b); printf ("%d,%d",a,b); } Here a and b both are printing the value after execution of function code totally. Then ... that. Is preincrement and postincrement evaluate on line of printing? Why it is not print after increment of a and b both? Plz give brief description about this
