Question

I'm a GATE aspirant, im pretty good with all the BASICS of the subject and expecting interview calls from IIT's this year (sinse gate rank not exceptionally good) the problem lies in the fact despite of all this knowledge about data structures/algo/computer-networks etc i have'nt really applied it actually in projects, even my final year project was bogus.
Any SUGGESTIONS about how to tackle this situation so that i will be able to confidently face the interviews?
