i think answer should be  option b) cabel television

see here : http://www.conceptdraw.com/diagram/cable-television-network-is-example-of-man-network

IEEE 802.6 standard is used for MAN  , so option d is wrong .

ethernet is used in LAN so option A is also wrong

some implementations deployed FDDI as a metropolitan area network.but since best known example is asked so option b should be answer

The Metropolitan Area Network is the network which is accessible in the city as in the TV  we uses the cables for the connection and sending and receiving the signal .

In the TV  connection the PLC station is used for the internet communication This internet communication is Metropolitan Area Network which can be accessible anywhere.

Metropolitan Area Network combines local networks located within a city, and is based on high data rate compounds, implemented on the basis of fiber channels and other digital data transmission channels. Now, with the increasing number of network communities, wireless local area networks based on 802.11b standard are combined into a wireless metropolitan area network consisting of affordable antenna systems and consumer-grade wireless equipment using 802.11a and 802.11b standards.

EXAMPLE-

A cable television headend is a master facility for receiving television signals for processing and distribution over a CATV system. The headend facility is normally unstaffed and surrounded by some type of security fencing and is typically a building or large shed housing electronic equipment used to receive and re-transmit video over the local cable infrastructure. One can also find head ends in power line communication (PLC) substations and Internet communications networks." [Cable television headend. Wikipedia]
