The pattern of the given series is as follows:

  • $14*2=28$
  • $28-8=20$
  • $20*2=40$
  • $40-8=32$
  • $32*2=64$
  • $64-8=56$

Option (B) is correct.

OPTION(B)

The above given series can be considered as two series.

First Series : Consisting all the odd position numbers ( 14, 20, 32 , x) : x is the term to be discovered.

Second Series : Consisting all the odd position numbers ( 28, 40, 64)

Since x is in the first series so, let’s focus on it.

Check the following difference pattern in two successive terms of the series.

20 - 14 = 6

32 - 20 = 12

Since the difference in a pair of successive numbers is doubling so the next will be :-

x - 32 = 24

solving x we get,

x = 24 + 32

x = 56

HENCE THE NEXT TERM OF THE SERIES IS 56. :)
