I am from civil engineering branch and expecting 54 marks in gate 2018 . Do NITs accept students from non CS branch for their MTech program. If they allow, what NITs I can expect with gate marks=54?

1-Computer Science & Engineering

2-Computational and Data Science

3-System Engineering

is the preference order correct?

and one more thing, there is nothing like Computer Science and Automation(CSA).

Hey, I know there is much detail regarding the question I am going to ask but all I want a simpler explanation of things.

Q1 At every round of COAPS cut-offs will I have to choose a single IIT out of all choices that I will get or can I choose more than 1 IIT to retain and wait.

Q2 Will written tests and interviews for each IIT chosen in COAPS will happen after 5th round or in between too.

and any further simple details regarding all this.

Did IIT-Kanpur stop taking interviews from last year?

Do they only take objective+coding+subjective test now for M.Tech admissions?

What are these Central Universities?

Is the exam been conducted for the first time?

What is the closing rank for interviews at IIT-D in general category for M-tech(CS) ?

@Arjun Sir, I am a final year student and I am getting 47 marks in gate in ST category. I think, I will be easily able to get the IIT'S , but the actual doubt is: My coding skills is very poor , it is below average because my logical thinking is not good.I have tried several times to improve my coding, but failed So, I want to know, should I join IIT for M.Tech or not ?? Is their any field in CSE M.Tech, which does not involve coding . One more thing, I am not interested in teaching field.Should I quit computer Science field because I lack coding skills required? Please suggest me.

So, has direct admission for Masters in CSE been stopped at IISc? The website says so, but in college predictor it says IISc direct admission.

Is there a difference between ME and M Tech in IISc? If yes, then in what ways?

College/Score prediction? Last year in set 1 i know one person got 50 actual marks and went to Nit Trichy!

Those who viewed their response sheet yesterday but are unable to do so now , because of GATE server problem, can get the URL(for GO prediction) from their browser history. It works.

After watching the response sheet and comparing my answers with the various answers which have been posted on the GO site and after a lot of grudging that How in the World could I have made this mistake, I was finally able to roughly estimate my marks and they were around 53. So now looking at previous year marks and ranks and looking at the level and discussion about this year's paper I am highly confused as to what should be my next step as I would prefer M.Tech from one of the old IITs or 1 or 2 of the new IITs. So asking the GO family whether I should start looking for a job(as I had left my job to prepare for GATE) and prepare for GATE along with it or should I wait for the result as there is any chance that I could get into my preferred IITs.

I have recently come to know that in IIT Kanpur apart from the interview and the written test we have a coding round as well and we will be taken to the computer labs and then we will be asked to code for a given problem how true is this ?? if it is true does it apply for all the IIT'S or only IIT KANPUR WHICH IS GIVING VERY LESS SEATS IN DIRECT ADMISSION (LAST YEAR ONLY 2 SEATS WERE GIVEN DIRECTLY REST ALL HAD TO ATTEND INTERVIEW )  can any one tell me which IIT'S generally call for interview for TA (teaching assistantce) and which ones have coding round and what are generally asked domains in that coding round as preparing everything is not possible in this short time

Hello to all members of GO family.

I have already took one year drop for preparing GATE 2018 CSE. But I dont think that I am going to get good rank. Even though my preparation was good for the GATE but that day was not mine because of fear pressure.

Based on my performance please help me that what should I do next. I have no measuring tool to tell you guys what was my performance level, but lets take ME test series as measuring platform, I know that this is not the perfect platform to measure ones performance.

In ME test series I have secured rank under 100 some time and under 150 most of the time. This was my performance measure.

 It is my keen desire to get into PSUs or goverment sector. So based on my desire I can take following steps.

1) Preparing for gate along with Mtech. Which seems a tedious task.

2) Take one more year drop and prepare for gate again. According to me it is not at all good decision.

3) Leave the Engineering feild and start preparing for Govt exams.

Now these are the few options which are in front of me to get into PSUs or Govt department.

Please Help me to take this decision.

What is your score and expected cut off? How long will it be before the results are announced?

I've seen the placement statistics, I just want to know personal opinions. Does anybody here plan to apply there this year? On the website it says in MNNIT there is a separate test for CSE.
