OS, Process Scheduling
Consider a uniprocessor system with n processes in the ready queue. Round robin scheduling with time quantum x is used for process scheduling. Assume each process requires kx seconds to complete and the context switch takes 0 seconds. At what time the first process will complete the execution? (assume all the variables as integers). A) nkx B) k(nx-1) C) k(nk+n) D) x(nk-n+1)

Three process P1, P2 and P3 arrive at time zero. Their total execution time is 10ms, 20ms, and 30ms respectively. They spent first 20% of their execution time in doing I/O, next 70% in CPU processing and the last 10% again doing I/O. For what percentage of time was the CPU free? Using SRTF algorithm

Can some one please tell me how are we finding solutions, for example when x = 3 how is number of solutions of y + z is 20. Three variables x,y,z have sum of 30. All three of them are non-negative integers. If any two variables don't have same value and exactly one variable has a value less than or equal to three, then find the number of possible solution for variables.

Hopcroft, Ullman Theorem 9.7 Reductions
There exists a language Ld = {M | M doesn't belong to L(M)}. Ld is the collection of Turing machines (programs) M such that M does not halt and accept when given itself as input. It is known and proved that Ld is a non- ... and Ld is non-RE, ATM must be non-RE. But we know that ATM is Recursively Enumerable and undecidable. How is this possible?

Computer Networks : Using DBA instead of LBA
Going through the concept of LBA (Limited Broadcasting) and DBA (Directed Broadcast Address), if i consider two cases Case 1 : when host A (10.1.2.3) want to send the packet to all the nodes of a DIFFERENT Network (say 11.0.0.0), in ... .255.255) in Case 2, why can't i just use DBA (Directed Broadcasting), making the Destination IP 10.255.255.255 ?

GATE DA 2024 ANSWER KEY CHALLENGE
Hello, I wanted to discuss the answer key given for some of the questions in official website. The doubts are following 1) It's about alpha beta pruning (Q25 in master question paper, 1 mark). The answer should be (m) = lowest, (n) = ... other people think ? I am planning to challenge these two questions but I feel that 2nd one will not be accepted by GATE.
