GATE 2017 AFTER NOON SESSION

Question

GATE 2017.. :-

Apptitude section :-  I think its a gud mixture of easy n tricky questions .

Technical Section :- Few Question are easy n few are really tough but what i found is options were to complex to choose as all are really close but in all paper was quite length personally my speed is low bcoz confuse while attempting the options but in all if more time i will able to attempt more question.

PS:- GATE is just an exam of gud presence of mind and be tensed free while attempting the question, i found gate overflow test is quite harder than actual gate but still i m nervous while attempting the questions as GATE word itself make the people scary, every one did good prepartion but it just the pressure that make the differnce.

I dont know i get a good rank or not but learning is my passion n i am person who is happy with learning new things n helping others n yeah during my preparation i learned alot n with the help of you all... i am happy after my exam as i know things its not like i have mug up the things so just forget  no its ....which is bcoz of gate overflow and you all... EVERYONE here is a hero for me really a big cheers to all of you....

So i just want to continue my gateoverflow journey always bcoz m being crazy about it

Lasty we can discuss here about set 2 and  want to know after gate   what to do next  ?? as want mtech from a good college so kindly share your views and which is better possibilty to explore next ...

I was in first session,the paper was quite tough as well and I messed up little in the pressure.Not sure what will happen and I am not willing to check answers etc to demoralize myself more. I hope one day GATE is conducted as a series of 2-3 tests with average taken over it rather than in one day giving so much stress. If anyone has taken exams for BITS Pilani,IIIT hyderabad,BIT mesra before plz let me know of the pattern.Also for VIT and MIT university because I think as far as private universities are concerned they are by far much better.

You are welcome Priyanka. Honestly this site is there just because of people like you. Because without having anyone wanting to learn, there is no motivation for anyone to contribute here. PRomosing IITs or top ranks is not what we want to do - they are all side effects.

The above link is for last rank details in IITs etc. If you see that direct admits stop at around 300 (and even this is after 4-5 rounds). Interview cutoffs can go to even 1500 at some IITs but there is no guarantee then one with rank 400 can get it. The other option is outside GATE like ISI, CMI, TIFR. Then IIITH/B/D, BITS, Amritha. Top NITs (only top) are good for placements.

Outside of the above I really do not want anyone to join any place. All you will get is a degree for namesake. If you are not getting any of these or dont want to put effor for it, the easiest option is to go abroad for MS. Having no money is not an excuse here- even if you have to pay 15 lakhs for a normal college or 50 lakhs for an ivy league one, you can surely payback in 2-3 years as you are in CSE branch. I know people who had "0 money" and still went for MS hoping to get scholarship and they got it- Where there is a will there is a way. These paths are not easy but you have just one life- decide what you want to do with it.

I have been to research places in India, Europe and US. Everywhere professors die to get good students. And here manya good students are there but who cant get to good places. Anyone with a rank say 5000 and above is very good. But they still might not be able to do good work because that requires spending sometime in a good institute (honestly I never meant any institute you find on your city/town center) doing good assignments/projects etc. Some people do this by trying for project work in IITs, some by applying for MS abroad etc.

@arjun sir thanku so much ... n yes i also want don't want to do mtech for just a degree n dont want to waste my two more years for such kind of institute i want a good knowledge n gud envt. i will prepare for IITH /B from now n yes sir m ready do go abroad n i will get a loan but i just  want to get a  way to get good admission thats it anyhow... bcoz i know my btech clg is not good n wasted 4 years so i understand whts a power of good clg n environment ... sir help me to come out from this my only aim is to get knowledge ... work in that domain n then work for my country

mine was set-2 and overall it's fine, but I have a big 'afsos' that I couldn't crack COA numericals, which I have mastered during preparion, it's called on-the-spot memory loss!!!!

same..same! 2 cycles and 8 cycles problems and another one in they asked hit ratio...they were too easy..but at that time I was unable to craxk it..just one reason: Pressure and too much tension!!!
