Few years back, some people used to write “Kenneth Rosen” for these type of questions but now-a-days I rarely see it here.

You can read the following books to understand generating function or to understand the discrete mathematics as a subject:

1. Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications by Kenneth H. Rosen
2. Concrete Mathematics by Graham, Knuth and Patashnik
3. Discrete and Combinatorial Mathematics by Ralph P. Grimaldi

@ankitgupta.1729 All recommended standard text book links are supposed to be on GO classroom course pages but I see none now. Will get them added as GO classroom is supposed to have all standard resources in one place for GATE CSE.
