Sir, the answer is given to be A and C. However if Rita is male and Pinto is female then A is wrong. So we look at general conventions while solving these type of questions or on basis of information provided?

Pardon me if i am wrong as this is the first time i am asking a question here.

We can't use our common sense in such question and guess the gender of a person by looking at its name. Thus statement A is incorrect. Only statement C is correct.
