Question

Are ECE graduates eligible for admissions in IITs/IISc?

I gave gate exam in CS and am expecting around 100 rank, Would I be eligible for admissions in IISC/ all IITs?

Edit: IISC specifically. I got most of the other info.

Absolutely, One of my friend in IITK was from ECE branch, one was from MSc Physics. It does not matter i think, all that matter is that what is your rank in GATE? That's it. Enjoy. All the best. :) and off-course Welcome :)

I had been thinking about IISC all this time. The site is pretty vague about it. I also emailed them but they haven't responded. Do you have any idea about IISC?

See, Have you seen anywhere that if a guy is from ECE, then we will not allow him in IISc. I think there in no such rule. Because IIT/IISc is one who believes in inter-departmental research and student. I think they will be very happy to have you.

@rude / anyone, What if the student is from Bachelors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, I got ~1200 this year and I am planning to write GATE_CSIT again with full time repeat just for the IISc, so this is important to me, can anyone please be sure.
