DOWN COUNTER means same polarity that is 

if the flip flops are +ve triggered then they should be connected with Q

if the flip flops are -ve triggered then they should be connected with Q'

am confused b/w A and D

the approach which i provide is wrong... don't follow it.... i will disable it !

thanku all for telling the correct approach;

that means up counter always go from states 0-->1-->2-->3-->4.......-->7-->0

and down counter always goes from states  0-->7-->6-->5...........-->1-->0

am i right?
