why every iit has their own fee for registration ?

ya, I too have the same query. Some IIT giving direct admission also has Rs 200- 500 registration fee. So basically if you register for admission at 10 iIT's you will end up paying 2k-3.5k.

Because each IIT is an autonomous institute and they believe in different entrance criterias. Some prefer direct admission, some like interview or written test or both. For some IITs you have to apply more than once if you are applying for more than one program. Being autonomous is what drives competition among IITs.

You would find the same procedure of applying separately in foreign universities as well.
