The Levels in Capability Maturity Model are :

  • Initial

→ Everything is maintained on Ad-hoc basis.

→ Unstable environment of software development.

→ No systematic tracking of schedules, budgets, or progress.

→ Highly dependent on individual skills and knowledge.

  • Repeatable

     →
Experience with earlier projects is used for managing new projects.

→ Expenses, Budgets, schedule is done on old projects.

  • Defined

     →
At this stage, proper documentation of the standard guidelines and procedures.

→ In this we give proper training to our team members for enhancement of their knowledge.

  • Managed

→ At this stage, quantitative quality goals are set for the organization.

→ This quantitative measurements made help the organization to predict the product and process quality.

  • Optimized

     →
This is the highest level of process maturity in CMM.

→ At this stage, we focus on the continuous improvement of the organization’s software processes.

So, correct order : Initial, Repeatable, Defined, Managed, Optimized.
