PSU recruitment through GATE 2017

Question

Hi,

What are the job opportunities in PSUs through GATE 2017 for CSE Students?

What should be the  minimum rank to get such a job for general candidates?

I am sharing a couple of PSUS who are gonna recruit Computer Science candidates through GATE 2017. You can add if you know any other job vacancy.

1. ONGC 

2. Indian Oil

3. Power Grid

4. BAARC

5. BBNL

But BSNL JTO taking via GATE is very important because the vacancies are around 2500 (not sure how many are for CS though). For others no. of seats are very few and only a top 100 in GATE is a guarantee. Also, unlike other branches CS people rarely prefer PSU to M.Tech in IITs/IISc.

What if someone not having CS degree ? What are the PSU job perspective ?

I don't think so, because they will also ask for graduation degree in CS.

@Debashish Not sure what you are doing now but you have good concepts to be in top 100 and get to IITB/IISc. No need to think about anything else.
@Shiva You also have good concepts- but need to concentrate a bit more specific to GATE. GATE exam is slightly different from other national level exams like ISRO, NET, BARC etc. and it contains more numerical/theory questions similar to TIFR.

Unlike other branch students CS people usually prefer M.Tech. in top IITs/IISc. to PSU jobs.
