What is the measure of the radius of the circle that circumscribes a triangle whose sides measure 9, 40 and 41 ?

The triangle is Pythagoras. with hypo as 41.

diameter subtends 90 degree angle on circumference of a circle.

Hence diameter = 41 radius = 20.5

40^2 + 9^2 = 41^2 = 1681

Hence it satisfies Pythgorus theorem. As we know that  a traingle inside a circle can be right angled iff the hypo of the right angled traingle is diameter .

 

So Diameter = 41 Unit

Radius = 41/2 = 20.5 Unit
