Assume there are 100 nodes are connected to a 1000 meter length of the coaxial cable. Using some protocol, each node can transmit 50 frames/second, where the average frame length is 2500 bits. The transmission rate at each node is 108 bps. The efficiency of this protocol is ________. (Upto 1 decimal place)

I got .125 but given is 12.5%?Please check which is correct?

each node bandwidth*no of nodes=125000*100=125*10^5

125*10^5/10^8= 125*10^-3*100=12.5%

also getting 0.125 or 12.5%.

see "each node can transmit 50 frames/second" and we have 100 nodes...(i guess you didn't multiply 100)

considering 100 nodes we get .125.But question does not aks %age.,So to get 12.5% ,we should multiply by 100 but it is not asked in questions.

After multiplying with 100(considering 100  nodes) then only we get .125.Please check

yes...they should have mentioned they want the answer in "%age" form....that's ambiguous.

So without that answer should be .125 ,right?

Because in gate questions they specific mention if %age is required

efficiency is always represented in percentage.

"here every node is transmitting 50frame/se means 50*2500=125000bits/second(throughput)   and channel bw is 108bits/second

$\eta$ * BW=Throughput

$\eta$=125000/108 =125*10-5*100 %=>0.125%

why %age in the end?

η=125000/10=125*10-5=>0.00125 or 0.125%
