Question

In one of the question from 2 level paging , they asked "What is the space overhead needed to translate virtual address to physical address of an instruction or data unit ? "

Please explain what is space overhead in this context and how to calculate it.

Overhead is nothing but space needed for storing page table.

It is same as an index pages for a book with 500 topics, one can read the book without index also but index just speed up the searching process. So here index pages are overhead for a book.
