About admission

Hi i wrote gate 2017 and according to the gateoverflow rank prediction my rank should be in the range 660-670 and i have a normalised rank of 491. I belong to general category. I graduated in 2016 and have got an offer from a service company(3.5 lpa) to join on first week  of april 2017. Will i get admission into any old NITs or good IITs for CSE? Will it be wise to decline the offer? Please give me some advice.

congrats you can sit for Old IIT MTech RA Interviews and probably get good old IITs

You can get interview calls for MS in old IITs/IISc. But the conversion rate for this is quite bad -- because most of the toppers are trained for question solving and not knowing research.

For your expected rank, as per last year NITC is possible- but in last round (NSR).

If job is a must now, you can consider joining. But if attending interviews is difficult then do not join. If I were you I would focus just on IIT interviews.

Thank you sir, I got AIR 631 with score 713. Decided not to go for job. How should I prepare for interviews. Is gate syllabus enough.
