In the CSMA/CD network the bandwidth of the link is 10 Mbps, two stations are connected at both the ends of the link. The speed of the transmission on the links is 5 x 10 ^6 m/sec. What is the length of the link in kilometre,  if the minimum frame size is 500 bytes ?

TransmissionTime =Tt

PropogationTime=Tp

By Using Formula Tt>=2Tp ------>L\B>=2*d\v

500*8\10*10^6>2d\5*10^6

Answer --1km.

Best answer
to detect the  collision   in signal path maximum 2* propagation time of frame length transmission required  so

overall frame length = RTT* bandwidth

500*8 bit=2*distance/velocity *bandwidth

put the vale  and  after calculation  distance =1km
