Theoritically - YES , Practically - NO

REASON - Signals attenuate after travelling some distance in LAN , we need repeaters to boost them but its impossible practically for long distances.

Theoretically also answer is no. I guess that is given in CN textbook- I forgot the exact reason but is surely mentioned in book.

i think theoretically also it is NO as we would need a much larger ethernet frame length to detect collision. As the ethernet frame is of limited or fixed length,we cannot send the frame over large distances  and still detect collision(but in practical cases the limit is set by the electrical interfaces and attennuation of the signal).

maybe due to frame size for csma/cd,   tt>=2*prop time

if distance is too much, frame size ll increase , it 'll increase than 1500

and after that size , if we allow may lead to monopolisation of the channel.

I think no because of limitation on length of cables that can be used in LAN
